Trains of happiness


From 1946 to 1952 thousands of families decided to welcome into their homes to Ancona, Ravenna, Follonica, Voltana and many other cities of the Marches, of 'Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, a multitude of unfortunate children, from southern Italy and the consequences of war victims, the workers' revolts put down with the blood of natural disasters. They called them "Trains of happiness," indeed carried despair, tears and mistrust. Happiness would come later, with the melting heat of the fear of suffering unexpected, surprising and unknown. A temporary form of adoption, which he did to those boys discover another Italy. The one where you ate three times a day, where the ice was not ricotta and shoes should no longer hide under the pillow at night.
