Minister Mariastella Gelmini, as President of the Ministerial Conference of the European Space Agency, sent a message to the 2nd General Assembly "Women Aereospace in Europe", which was held today in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. The association
WIA Europe has the aim to ensure that young women with more growth opportunities and representation at European level in the aerospace industry.
In the message, read by the President and co-founder of WIA Europe Simonetta Di Pippo, the Minister emphasized the commitment of the association for the promotion of women's careers in an environment driven by historically men and, more generally, for the diffusion of culture, development activities and research in the space sector with particular attention to women, their managerial skills and their communication potential. "
The minister also recalled the contribution of the Italian representation in support of the association, expressing "the full support of its main goals," WIA Europe granted to the patronage of the Ministry of Education, University and Research and then the possibility of using the institutional logo Ministry of Education.
Minister Gelmini, finally, accepted the proposal di diventare membro onorario dell’associazione, con l’obiettivo di contribuire alla crescita e allo sviluppo delle sue iniziative.
